Even though it’s almost over now
I had a great day though. Spent all day stitching! Well, I did have to do some laundry, dishes, perm my hair, etc. but so far already I’ve stitched a good 7 hours today at least. I am working on the Assisi Sampler for my boss and it’s coming along well. I also was watching my new Pirates of the Carribbean DVD and I have to say I love the dialog in this movie. I was rather disappointed with the director/depp commentary and couldn’t even finish it. Oh well, there are two more.
I still have a little cleaning to do tonite and Kalonji comes home tomorrow morning. I’m so excited! I have not seen my husband in four months!
ta ta for now. I’ll post a progress pic tomorrow.

and I am looking forward to a day of stitching. In the wee hours of the morning last night I finished the Art Deco ABC for Annette.
(the scan is not the best)

I will spend the rest of the day working on the cross-stitch for my boss.

I get to spend the next two glorious days doing nothing but stitching! Christmas is going to be good this year!
I gave Sandi her angel and she loved it. She told me this morning that she put it on her tree last night.
I have just finished this angel for another Christmas present. This is going to my mother-in-law’s sister. Tomorrow I will pick out a frame for it and hopefully take another picture on Friday. I won’t be seeing her until the weekend.

For the rest of the evening, I’ll continue to stitch on the “Welcome” piece below. Maybe I can finish it tonite???? And, then, I’m looking forward to moving on to the design I’m doing for my boss. I’ve already started it and it’s going to look great – i can already tell.
So, that’s my agenda for the next two days. Kalonji comes home the morning after Christmas then we are off for five days to visit the boys, then celebrate our anniversary (New Year’s Eve). But I’m sure I’ll be posting again before that.

I made my very first ornament today. I took the LL Freebie and with help from my LNS owner made an ornament.

I also started a project for my co-worker Annette. This alphabet is in the latest issue of World of Cross Stitching. I hope to finish it and give it to her by Jan 5th. She likes the art nouveau style, so I thought this would be appropriate.

I just finished the Angel Freebie. I have no idea how I’m going to frame it, but this is a Christmas present, so maybe I’ll give it to her unfinished and then we can go together to pick out the stuff. Knowing her though, she may want to frame it herself as she has framed other things before. Hmm… decisions, decisions.
So, here she is at approx 12 hours to finish. You can’t see the beads or the sparkle as much as I’d like, but it is so pretty in person!

I’m off to get my stitching stash in order and then start the next Christmas present I’m going to do. So much to stitch and so little time!

Three posts in one day is ridiculous! oh well – I guess i get inspired
Here is the latest pic of the angel I started the other night. I have finished all of the DMC and Petite Treasure stitching, so at this point there are only beads left. I’m still aiming to finish it tomorrow.

Have some more to report!
First, back when Kalonji’s ship was en route to California, they went through the Panama Canal. Every seaman that goes through the canal is presented a certificate called The Order of the Ditch. I took Kalonji’s in tonite to get framed. You can’t see it that well in this picture, but once it is framed I will take another.
Order of the Ditch.
Then, tonite at my LNS we had our party – we did a white elephant trade. We all brought gifts that had to be something around the house that we didn’t want anymore. Then, we each got to pick a gift. Well, after the 1st person, each person thereon had the option of stealing a gift from someone else, or opening a new gift. I got a bag of stitching goodies out of the deal and took a pic.
I also picked up my framed Pearl. I stitched this for my friend Betty and was able to give it to her tonite. Here it is framed:

Here is a pic of Betty with it.
I also picked up some materials that I needed to continue working on the LL angel freebie I’m working on. As soon as I get off of the computer tonite, I am going to work on her some more. I’ll post a new pic again tomorrow.

We did “Secret Pals” at work again this year, and I just wanted to share what my secret pal got for me.
I think it is the cutest project! It’s called Birds in the Hood and is a kit by Janlynn. While I have never stitched birds, this will be a great piece to get me started. now when i’ll ever get to it is another question….

I stitched a little bit more on the angel last night, but I still did not finish the DMC portion. There are two colors that I need that I couldn’t find in my WIPs last night. But tonite I will start the beading.
Also tonite is my stitching groups “party” at my LNS. We do a white elephant exchange tonite so that should be fun. I’ll be taking pictures and probably posting again.

Kalonji called me today and told me that he got promoted! He “got capped” as they refer to it where the Captain promoted him and another enlisted up a rating without them having to take a test. So, he is now E-5 and a MS2 (for those out there that know what this means lol!) I am so proud of him.
As for me, I got a major stitching bug today. I decided I needed to stitch three Christmas gifts! Well, due to the late date, the recipients will be getting them post-Christmas.
But at least I’ll have made them for them. First up is Marilyn Leavitt-Imblums free 2003 angel. I got in three hours tonite, and hope to finish the DMC parts tomorrow. There’s quite a bit of beading in this for its size, so I’d like to start that beading tomorrow – perhaps I’ll finish by Friday night??

This weekend, I’ll start this design for my boss.
I guess I won’t be finishing my geisha this year either.

This has been a wonderful and relaxing weekend. Not that I did much, but it’s been good anyway.
I only got a little bit of stitching done. I’ve been half-heartedly working on the geisha girl I’m doing from an issue of World of Cross Stitching. Here is my latest progress [link removed 1/31/04]
I got some bookshelves from my friend Melanie, so finally put them in place and put my xs stuff on them. I have lots of magazines so I finally have a place for them. Here is a a picture.
And, stash report!! I have gotten about 40 magazines this week
I got several issues of World of Cross Stitching from a lady in the UK, i got about 5 magazines from my LNS, and I bought almost 20 issues of magazines from my friend Melissa. I’m in heaven.
