Travels abound

I love to travel! Last week, my sister Kelli graduated from high school, so I took a very quick trip to Florida to see her graduate. It was so much fun and I had a chance to see several family members. She’s off to the University of Florida in Gainesville next year!

This past weekend (from Sun to Wed) I was in DC for a business trip. It was pretty much normal as far as business trips go, though I did get a chance to take a nightime bus tour of several monuments. The bus driver we had was great and gave us a lot of local historical information. I think the most beautiful part of the ride was seeing the National Cathedral, I bet it is just as gorgeous inside as it is outside.

But, in the midst of my travels, I have had some stitching time. I have picked the sub back up and am now working dutifully on the water. I would like to finish all the water before taking another break. I am now at 100 hours!

My LNS is having a memorial day sale and I was a bad girl! I purchased a kit of a Japanese Maiden. I am tempted to go back and get another design I saw of a geisha girl. All her kits are half off – how can a girl resist. :)

This weekend I am off to Louisville, KY for the long weekend. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

I Heard the Heartbeat!

This post is all about the baby :)

I had a midwife appt on Friday and I was able to hear the heartbeat! It was very surreal and brought tears to my eyes. I did read that the heartbeat is fast, but I did not expect it to be as fast as it was. In fact, it didn’t even sound like a heartbeat, it sounded like whooshes, but it was so exciting. Makes it so much more real.

The midwife also checked me out and informed me I had plenty of pelvic room to deliver a very healthy baby (could easily handle 8 lbs), so that was an interesting thing to learn. :)

And so, all continues to go well!

No stitching for me over the past week. I’ve been very busy around the apt. This weekend I was in atlanta visiting friends and tonite i fly out to Florida for my sister’s hs graduation. Maybe i’ll get back to stitching by the end of the week. :)

Me Again

I really need to update this blog more often! Well, over the past two weeks I’ve been working on two project. I continued to work on Noah’s Sub, but then put that down about a week ago so I could alternate. I then stitched on my geisha girl. Cool thing I noticed in updating my pics is that they are both at approx 90 hours of stitching.

Over the past couple of days, I have not felt like stitching much, so I have been working on the Mirabilia/MLI gallery, the TWBB Directory and the Magazine Database. I’m happy to have made some progress on them now and I think I’m finally in a position now to keep up!

As for the pregnancy — things continue to go well there. I am now at 12 weeks and I definitely feel pregnant. No major symptoms except for nasal congestion — it’s like i’ve had a cold these past 12 weeks. I have another midwife appt on Friday and I should be able to hear the heartbeat then. I’ll post again after that.

I’m not sure how long my stitching slump will last, but I’m hoping to pick the sub back up this weekend. Besides, I’ve got plenty of time to finish it. :)
