So, in follow-up to the previous entry, we had a great weekend. We visited the boys and got a few things for the new baby. Not a lot, just a few outfits. Couldn’t resist you know?? So, the boys know they are getting a little sister and we talked a lot about how babies are born — at one point, the oldest turned to me and said “are you sure you’re ready for this!” (he’s 9). Isn’t that just cute? I had to laugh and just said I sure hope so cuz i have no choice now
So, here are a couple of ultrasound pics. She weighs about 1 1/2 pounds at this point and today marks the beginning of week 26. Here is a pic where you can see her spine and top of her head, and here is a pic where you can see details of her face. We also have a video of the ultrasound that I am going to investigate getting digitized. It would be so cool to be able to put pieces of that up for family to view too.

I’m behind again in updating this blog, but I’ve been busy stitching!
I was a bad girl and started Fairy Idyll last week. I don’t have a scan of it yet, but hopefully soon, and I continue to work on the sub.
The shocking news referred to in the title is in regards to our baby. We had our ultrasound today which was really, really neat! We say arms, legs, toes, fingers, face, blood flow, heard the heartbeat and more. And, we found out we are having a girl!!! We even saw the proof for ourself.
but the shocking part is that we are further along than we thought — due date is not Nov 22nd, but instead October 5th. I am 25 weeks pregos. Apparently, we did not get pregnant the weekend I thought we did, but instead, it happened the time Kalonji was home before that (6 weeks prior).. So looks like I’ve just jumped ahead in the pregnancy!
I’m still shocked by this. I feel very sad that I was pregnant since mid-Jan and didn’t know until March and only wished I could have done better, ate better for the baby. During jan & feb i was still on the South Beach diet and i lost about 10lbs during then, was doing strenous exercise too. everything is fine with the baby, but i really wish i would have known.
But, we are excited to have a girl — the first girl in the family amongst all these boys — speaking of which, we are off to visit for the next couple of days. I’ll try to update again soon, but wanted to get this in quickly.

Since I last posted, I took a quick trip to Louisville, KY to visit my friend Sara and her parents and had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. If you ever go to that area, you have to eat at Claudia Sanders Dinner House. This is the wife of Col. Sanders (aka KFC) and the food was excellent!
In baby news, I started feeling it this weekend! I am naturally very excited about that. I am now 16 weeks and everything is moving along fine. It is such a weird sensation though to know that this thing is moving around inside me and will be for the next 6 months or so. very cool.
And, in stitching news, I started a new project last week. I started MLI’s Angel of Grace. I am intending this to be a gift, though I am in no rush to finish it. It is going very quickly and here is my progress so far:

I intend to go back to the sub tonite, so by the end of the week should have a new picture up.
