I guess I do!

The consensus from all the comment leavers is that yes, I do look preggie :-) awww, aren’t you all so sweet. It’s fun to have a picture though, so I will probably take a few more towards the end of September to see if there are any changes.

Though it has been another busy week, I did manage to stitch quite a bit this weekend. I worked on Honkin Big CamSam and though this pic has a bluish tint to it, here it goes. As I am doing this four times larger than charted, the height of the design is just over 2 feet tall. But it’s fairly easy stitching.

Also, in family news, our pictures we took in June are back and of course I have to share! The pictures scanned in quite dark, so please forgive that.

All the boys
Kamau (9)
Miles (7 when we took this, but is turning 8 next month)
Jihad (5 when we took it, but he turned 6 in July)
Qacheyta (3)

Just think, next year there will be even one more! Also, I LOVE the pic of Kalonji and I, but that is already on our main page so I won’t repeat it here.

And then…. over the weekend I also became addicted to Neopets! Don’t ask why, it just happened :-) My sister sent me some of her neopoints and then I just got obsessed! Here is my neopet – Oren_Ishii2004. If you have one I’d love to see yours. Mine is named after Lucy Liu’s character in Kill Bill – I just love the name Oren Ishii.

Do I Look Pregnant?

Posted by taneya on August 24, 2004 under Uncategorized | 8 Comments to Read

My friend emails me today and she wants to see a picture of me pregnant. Well, I’m not sure I really look all that pregnant! All of my friends and coworkers are saying that I don’t look pregnant, though I think now it is showing. However, I don’t think you’d necessarily know it unless you knew me and knew I was pregnant. While i’m having mixed feelings about that fact, I did tell her I would take a pic and send it to her. And of course, you all know I’m pregnant, so I guess i do look pregnant now, just not as pregnant as some may. Most of the reason for this I am sure is the fact that I am so well-endowed “up there” :-)

I just took this at lunch today…

NS Picture

Thanks to everyone who has left comments for me over the past few posts. I have not replied to everyone individually, but i do appreciate them!

Here’s my updated pic of the sub.

And, I even took a close up pic of my first completed animal – the walrus!

I will continue to work on Camelot Sampler tonite.

Last week (or maybe the week before that) I was on my way home, not too far from work yet, and ended up behind a black car that had a license plate that said “xstchr”. I was too thrilled! I couldn’t get a glimpse to see who was driving the car, but I was too tickled. Well, this morning as I am walking from the garage to the library where I work, I saw the car again, but parked this time! Now that I know there is someone else who works here at the university and has a tag such as that and i know where they park, would it be weird of me to leave a note – you know, from one stitcher to another – just to say hi? I almost did it, but then thought the person would just think i’m weird :-) should i do it if i see the car again?

Car Seat Installation

I installed the car seat yesterday. I have to say, even though it is in there, I am not happy with how I have put it in; I don’t think the angle is right for the baby, so I am going to get it checked out. But, it was fun to put it and the stroller together.

As for my stitching, I’ve had quite a busy weekend. I’m losing interest again in the sub, so I put it down yesterday after working on it a few hours. I won’t be able to take a picture until tomorrow, but I have worked a little bit of the animals on the top half.

So, while I’m taking a break from the sub (hopefully no longer than a week), I decided to work on Honkin’ Big Cam Sam. While working on it last night I had a visit from pesky frogs. I realized this morning that everything i had stitched yesterday (about three hours worth) was WAY off count and I had the pleasure of ripping it out today and restitching it. But, of course I am glad I did as everything is much better now and I can move on.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend – I’m still glued to watching the Olympics. :)

They are making a movie!

Thanks to Melissa, i found out that they are making a movie out of Memoirs of a Geisha. I cannot tell you how excited I am about it as of course I think many of you are aware of my fascination with geishas :)

So, in this news story she sent me, Steven Spielburg is co-producer and some of the stars are Zhang Ziyi who will play Sayuri and Michelle Yeoh who will play her mentor (who’s name i cannot remember right now). Both of these acresses were in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Ken Wantanabe of the Last Samurai will also be in it and Gong Li will be in it as well. Gong Li is another well known Chinese actress of whom I have seen couple of her movies several months back thanks to my boss. I cannot wait for this movie!

Stitching wise, i haven’t done much this week. it’s becoming more difficult for me to stitch after work, so i try to get it in on the weekend. I am still working on Noah’s Sub though. And pregnancy wise, I can’t believe there is only a little more than 6 weeks to go til the due date!

NS Milestone

Posted by taneya on August 15, 2004 under Uncategorized | Read the First Comment

I’ve reached another milestone on the sub – as of today, all of the stitching for the water itself is done!! i am so thrilled. That’s a lot of blue you know :) I don’t have a new pic, but if you look at my current one, the water part that is missing was the crest of the waves. So, that’s what I’ve worked on the past couple of days and then finished earlier this afternoon. I did realize that I made a mistake in my waves though — they are supposed to have pink highlights, but b/c I wasn’t paying close enough attention, I stitched more light blue than it called for instead of the pale pink. Oh well – you can still tell they are waves.

So, I feel rather proud tonite. I am going to continue to stitch on this when I can thru the week, so I should have another progress pic by Friday or so.

Okay — gotta go back and watch more Olympics!

Exhausting Week

Posted by taneya on August 14, 2004 under Uncategorized | 2 Comments to Read

I have had such an exhausting week! Primarily b/c of work as we’ve been very busy with an upcoming project so I’ve worked late several nights this week. However, I did get a chance to go to my Sit & Stitch thursday night and see the gals. :)

And, guess what else? I finally picked Noah’s Sub back up!!!! So, i’m in the midst of trying to finish up the water. I would love to reach that milestone this weekend, but I’m not quite sure I’ll make it. We’ll see where I stand tomorrow. I do plan to work on it all day today as I watch the Olympics.

Here’s my progress pic as of Thursday night.

I forgot to mention in my last post that while I was in TX, I picked up two cross-stitch books; Joan Elliott’s Cross Stitch Sayings and Julie Hasler’s Native American Cross Stitch.

And baby wise, all still goes well. I am 32 weeks right now and still feel just fine. I had a bout of heartburn last week for several days, but that seems to have subsided. We’ve been buying a whole bunch of baby clothes off of Ebay, you know, people sell whole lots of clothes and the ones we have gotten so far have been in excellent condition. So, she’s got plenty of clothes. My mother got us our stroller and car seat combination so I’ll probably install that in the car next week.

Back from Texas

I got back last night from spending five days in Texas with Kalonji – had a great time! We didn’t do much at all except hang out and spend money. We did spend way too much money going to the movies — we say 4 of them; Bourne Supremacy, the Village, Spiderman 2 and Manchurian Candidate. I liked them all very much and LOVED the village! It is getting some mixed reviews about the ending, but I liked it so that’s all that matters :) I think I’ll be getting all of these on DVD when they come out.

While in Corpus though, I did pick up one of the issues of Cross Stitch Gold that I was wanting – Issue 22. It has the colorful cat design that I mentioned in a previous post, so I was very happy indeed. Found it at Barnes & Noble. Unfortunately, the BN here does not carry Cross Stitch Gold anymore, but I’ve worked out a trade to start getting the issues.

Remember the nautical compass design I did last week? Well, I finished it as an ornament and Kalonji gave it to his Senior Chief today. I unfortunately did not take a picture of it, so I’ll never have a pic of it completely finished, but I think it came out nice :)

And, for my travel project, I started one of the Art Nouveau ladies that I raved about a few posts ago. I was not very great about keeping track of my time, but I’ll estimate that I have around 20 hours in on her. She stitches very easily, so I’m happy with the progress I made. Here is my pic:

BUT, everyone needs to yell at me now — WORK ON NOAH’S SUB! (i so need to get back to this piece)
