Today, my six weeks maternity leave is over and I am back at work. The time has passed very quickly and it almost seems as if I never left. I took Kaleya to daycare this morning for her first day there and I am sure she is in great hands. I plan to call in a minute to see how she is doing. :-)

Our Thanksgiving was wonderful! We went to visit Kalonji’s grandmother (Kaleya has her middle name), his father, stepmother, and his sisters. Kalonji’s sister has a 7 month old boy, so as with my parents, his  father got two grandchildren in one year as well! We had a good time visiting and everyone of course loved Kaleya. I will get pictures up from our trip within the next few days.

And I continued to work on Cape May Street. I did not stitch as much as I thought I might while we were out of town, but I did get a lot done. I’ll also get a new progress pic of that later on.

I was playing around with the camera yesterday and took this picture. I love it and just had to post it! Click on it to see a larger version.

I am in Memphis again and will be going to an LNS tomorrow. If I pick up anything good, I’ll post. Otherwise, I continue to work on Cape May Street. I’m making great progress. We are going to visit family for Thanksgiving, so with family fawning over Kaleya, I am sure I will be able to do plenty more!

While in Memphis last week, I stopped at Hobby Lobby and picked up this design by Debbie Patrick  – Cape May Street.  I plan to give this away as a gift when it’s done (of course, that could be YEARS from now!).  I started in on the 12th and so far have made quite a bit of progress. For now, I have stopped counting my hours as I stitch whenever I can fit it in around Kaleya, but here is my progress a just over a week. Click on it to see a bigger version.

Cape_may_1 And, that’s all for my stitching news. There are quite a few more projects that I would love to start, but I’m trying to contain myself. I think I have plenty of wips!

Kaleya is now 5 weeks old and just as precious as ever. For Thanksgiving we are going to go visit more family, so next week we’ll have more pictures. For now, here’s an updated pic I took a few days ago — she had just waken up from a nap. Again, click on it to see it larger. Kaleya_nov18_rev_2

We have spent the last two weeks or so away from home. Kaleya is going to be quite the traveller when she grows up!

In early November, we went to visit the boys and the rest of Kalonji’s family. Everyone loved Kaleya and of course the boys are all excited about being big brothers. Pictures are up . We also took our new family pictures again so we could inlcude her. The pic is not the greatest, but here we are in all our glory! Click on it to see a bigger version.

Then, we went to Memphis to get Kalonji all settled, so now we are back home. While we were in Memphis though, we went to Graceland. It was great. I started liking Elvis after watching Lilo & Stitch, so this was a treat. of course, I am now listening to a CD of Elvis hits all the time after having been through his house :-) The Graceland pictures are here.

As for stitching, I started a new project last week. Will get a pic up later. Now, let me go get some things done before the baby wakes up!

we interrupt all the baby news for a REAL stitching blog today! Over the past two weeks I have been able to stitch as I mentioned in a previous post so I have some progress to share on Mirabilia’s Fairy Idyll. I have however temporarily abandonded trying to keep up with my time, so I can’t say how many hours I’ve added. Here is what it was when picked it up and here is what it is now:

I am not sure if I’ll continue to work on this or if I’ll move along to something else.

And, as for baby news, we all continue to do well. Kalonji is still home so that does allow me to get other things accomplished as he can help out with Kaleya. We went to Memphis this weekend to drop him off there, but he was unable to stay and will have to instead report on the 8th, so he came back with me.

Both sets of my parents have been to visit and I have pictures up of course. (the week two album has more recent pics. I also have more pictures yet to be added but will let everyone know when they are up. Kaleya has more and more alert time now and she’s smiling (i’m convinced they are real) and even cooing some.

I voted this morning, so if you haven’t yet and are in the US — GO VOTE! :-)
