I think I must suffer from some sort of chronic disease to continually start new projects or something! LOL. I got the urge on Friday to start a new project and dug around in my stash until I found one. I also had a great fabric for it, so on Christmas Eve, I started Pinn Stitch’s Chinese Blessing Gods. This design is of three gods, Hok (who represents good fortune, wealth & prosperity), Lok (who represents good health, success, family happiness and mutual love) and Siew (who represents longevity and long life free from stress and obstacles). The design is supposed to be placed in a place in your home where you can see it soon after entering, but not in any bedrooms b/c these places of rest are unsuited to the active energies of this trio. I am fascinated by this design and the colors are fun so far. Fortunately, having 4 days off from work has allowed me to get in plenty of stitching on it!

Well, looks like we won’t get to see Kalonji after all. I just don’t trust the interstates in this weather and it’s supposed to be even worse as you head towards Memphis. So, we’ll just stay warm at home this weekend and go see Kalonji and the boys as we planned to next weekend.
Took this pic of Kaleya today. We went through two Christmas outfits too. I’m saving the best one for tomorrow though.

We got snow last night and today (it’s still snowing)! Not that I’m excited about it, b/c I am supposed to be going to Memphis tomorrow and I need the roads to cooperate
In any case, I got up this morning to get ready for work and had a surprise waiting for me – my car doors were frozen shut. So, after 45 minutes of defrosting my car, I get in and head to daycare and the roads were terrible. Turned around and came right back home. I am doing some work though — about half a da’s worth, but I really do hope it gets better by tomorrow….
Here’s the view out of my living room window this morning.

And, I know two more babies now. My friend Nicole delivered her daughter on December 9th

And, my friend Sara has a new nephew who was born December 19th

don’t have much else to post about. I have not been stitching, though I did pick Fairy Idyll back up a couple of days ago. I’m hopeful that I’ll get some in over the holiday weekend. Oh, and I want to give a shoutout to my girl Melissa and her fitness success! I of course noticed that she was slimming down, but it’s even cooler to see the before and after pictures. As I myself had started the South Beach Diet last year and lost 30lbs, then found out I was pregnant, I do plan to start back again. Probably early Feb or so. I really do need to be in a more established routine with Kaleya and we’re getting there.

So, all of my life, I have had very interesting and often just strange/weird dreams. I get this from my mother! When I moved to Nashville, I was roommates with my friend Nicole who is a psychiatrist and she would analyze my dreams for me. So, after a few months of her doing it, I kinda learned how to pick out elements here and there… so, I must share what I dreamed last night.
I dreamed that for some reason, Kalonji
was getting into a fight with Magic Johnson. This fight was going on in our
bedroom. Well, at some point during the fight, Magic proceeds to take In the
Arms of An Angel down from the wall and hit Kalonji with it over the head. Well,
then in the dream, I just went ballistic! Not ballistic b/c I was concerned that
Kalonji had just been hit in the head with the piece, but ballistic b/c Magic
had used it! And I just went on this horrific vocal tirade against Magic for
doing that. I was like "how DARE you take that off the wall and use it to hit
him! My friend Mellissa made that for me to honor my child and how DARE you do
such a thing!" etc, etc. I was going off on him, screaming at him to get out,
etc, etc. Oh, and after I screamed at him, I made him try and put it back
together b/c the glass had been broken and everything.
And my attempt at interpretation: A lot of times, my dreams come from thoughts I’ve had during
that day, and one time in the middle of the night last night (i think it
was around 12:30) when Kaleya needed to be fed, I was sitting in bed feeding her
and just thinking again of how touched I was that Melissa had stitched that for me.
So, I guess that got transferred into my dream. Also, Kalonji and I did have a "disagreement" this weekend, so I was upset at him, so I can see how me having Magic hit him in my dream may have stemmed from that. Also, me yelling at Magic may have been transferrance from Kalonji to him. We’re much better now though
Now, why it was Magic Johnson I
have absolutely NO idea! I have not even been thinking about basketball lately and if I were, it would be much more likely to be college than pro.
So, there’s a glimpse into my psyche for you this Monday afternoon.

We had our annual Christmas party at my LNS tonite. Every year we do a white elephant exchange and it is always fun! I got a chance to see everyone again and even including a friend I’ve not seen in about two years!
So, I came away with a rose flower shadow box (thanks Kem!). I also took Kaleya and let me tell you, our group has had a baby boom – three babies born in 2004 among us – Becca was first in March with Benjanmin, then Kem had her daughter October 1st, and the I had Kaleya on October 16th. Today, Kaleya is two months old – happy birthday!
Kem and I had a joint baby shower at the LNS back in September so it was great to see her little girl, McKenna, who I had not met yet. Our pictures are of course online but the picture below has to be my favorite! This is the first really good picture I have of Kaleya with a big smile

It was the alternator. So, I had to replace it this week to the tune of $300 but at least that should take care of the problem. I cannot risk being stranded roadside again, especially with a baby.
I have been so ultra-busy this week at work – it’s insane! But, is a "good" busy and i’ve posted before about how much I enjoy what I do. It helps the time pass faster so I can pick-up the little one.
In lieu of stitching the past few days I’ve added a few more magazines to my magazine db (link is on the left sidebar). I want to get several more issues indexed before the end of the year, but so far this year I’ve done 56 magazines and I really would like to get to do at least 10 more before the year is over. We’ll see…

what a weekend!
On saturday, we spent the entire day at our local outlet/mall place — Opry Mills as my mother-in-law was here for the day. Her job organizes an annual bus trip to Nashville just for that reason. It was crowded out there and we were there all day. Had a good time though.
However, on the drive home that night, my car proceeded to die on me. It all started on the highway when i noticed my dashboard lights were dim. Within 5 minutes of me noticing this, they got dimmer, my internal lights came on, the radio started to die, i think my headlights were going out, my turn signals didn’t work and my hazard lights didn’t even work. Thankfully, I was in an area rather close to my job and was able to pull into a parking lot next to a large grocery store. No sooner than we pulled into the lot than the car died. So, we had to call my friend to come get us, a tow truck to take the car home, but despite that, i am thankful that it happened where it did and that I was not out of town.
So, Sunday I had the car tested and it’s running now. The battery and altenator are fine according to Sears and AutoZone but they couldn’t be sure what had drained the power. So, tomorrow I’m having an electrical test done to see if anything can be identified. If I am having an electrical drain, they told me the car could do the same thing in a day or two. keep your fingers crossed for us!
No stitching this weekend, but maybe i’ll get some in tonite. Oh, and we got our family pictures back that we took last month and they are gorgeous! And, speaking of gorgeous – here’s yet another pic of you know who!

I’m still working on Cape May Street and I have made a lot of progress since my last scan. As I am no longer tracking my hours, I can’t tell how many hours I have on it, but it’s been about three weeks since I started it.
Everything else is going well. Kaleya continues to do well in day care and I feel fairly adjusted to our new schedule. Kalonji should be coming home this weekend – yeah!! While he is here, I am hoping to get some things done around the apt.

I got the pictures from Thanksgiving up – they can be viewed here.
The first few days back at work have gone very well and Kaleya seems to have no problems adjusting to her daycare. They all love her there and say she is a doll, so I’m glad that is working out. She stays awake more throughout the day there than she did when we were at home, so now at night she sleeps most of the evening and through the night. I am somewhat sad about that as I don’t get to spend as much time with her alert as I was, but I guess as she gets older, she’ll be alert longer so I guess I shouldn’t worry too much.
This weekend my mother-in-law will be in town for a day visiting one of our local outlet centers. I will be hanging out with her on Saturday and hopefully Kalonji will get to come home too this weekend. We’ll see.
And of course I have to post a pic of Kaleya! I took this one of her this evening after we got home.
