Where does time go?

Sometimes I can’t believe how quickly time flies – two months of 2005 already gone. Time flies when you’re having fun right? We had fun this weekend. Kaleya and I went to Memphis again to go see Kalonji. Weekend was good – saw two movies — Saw and Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. Saw was creepy. Harold and Kumar was funny.

On the way there, I made a stop at WalMart and b/c Kaleya prefers to sit up more lately, I put her in the sitting part of the cart. She did quite well in it.. didn’t complain once :-)

Then, I took this picture when Kalonji had her in her lap. She is "reading" the liner notes from one of his CD’s. It was so cute :-)

and, i even got a little bit of stitching in. I’ve been working of Angel of Grace lately so have made good progress on it. Here is my latest pic from Sat.

Had A Stitch Day

What a wonderful weekend! On Saturday, a few of my friends came over and we had a stitch day. It was great! In addition to Melissa, Mary, Katie, & Betty (who are in the picture) Fran and her DH Ollie, stopped by too for about 30 minutes. It was so nice to have everyone over. I really miss the more frequent stitch datys we used to have :-)

I took a pic of Kaleya with Ollie — Ollie & Fran play Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus at Christmas, so I told Kaleya she was practicing for when she would sit on Santa’s lap later on this year :-)

And as for stitching, I finally moved on past my One Hundred Fu Characters. Here is my progress pic.  I have started working on my MLI Angel of Grace again and I think I’ll put a huge dent in it over the next couple of weeks.

Kaleya and I are at home today. Daycare is closed, so I have to stay home with her. We’re having a good time, she is so entertaining these days so I enjoy just watching her explore everything.

Kaleya is 4 months today

And, I’ve updated her webpage with her latest developmental milestones. I plan to do this every month and then evenually archive them all for inlcusion in her baby book.  I dressed her up today, but we’ll see if she manages not to drool/spit up all over herself :-)

I meant to take a new picture of my progress on One Hundred Chinese Character Fu, but did not get around to it, but I’m still working on it. I really, really need to move on, so perhaps this weekend I’ll rotate to another project. Thanks to Hazel, I got the latest two issues of Cross Stitch Gold – one of my absolute favorite magazines. There are some cute things in it, things I could see myself stitching.

And, my brother is now again overseas in Afghanistan. He’s got a contract job with the military. We didn’t really want him to go, but he’s there now, so we just are going to keep our fingers crossed that he makes it home safely. His first visit home is scheduled for June I believe.

Memphis again

Kaleya and I went to Memphis again this weekend. We had a relaxing visit with Kalonji and took him his Valentine’s day cards and presents. I also got yet another present from him (he’s inundated me with DVD’s this month!). I am not complaining though — I LOVE watching television.

Otherwise, the weekend was uneventful. I have been swamped at work, so I hope to spend some time this week catching up in my personal life. I’m planning to host a stitch day this weekend, so I am looking forward to having some friends over. None of my stitching friends (except one) has seen the new apt and after the hectic past few weeks I’ve had, I need some stitching time. I’m still working on the one hundred charaters of Fu.

What a week!

This week has been amazing, exhilarating, exhausting, and almost overwhelming… but, all in a good way! The library in which I work has officially begun managing another library here in Nashville. The leadership of this institution approached my library director to develop a plan to improve the services and skills of the library. The contract officially began Feb 1st and I’m spending a large percentage of my time involved in the project. I am enjoying it and learning a tremendous amount — this is a wonderful opportunity for professional development. However, it’s kept me extrememly busy :-)

So, my stitching this week has been greatly reduced, but I’ve already gotten in about 90 minutes this morning and I should be able to stitch more later. I’m continuing to work on the 100 Fu characters, so I plan to get a new progress pic up soon. Kaleya and I have recovered nicely from our colds and are feeling much better.  In my last post, I neglected to put up a picture that i took of her –she’s been able to hold her head up when lying on her stomach now for a couple of weeks so I took a pic.

Kfm_floorHer thing over the past couple of days has been puckering her lips. of course I think it’s absolutely cute. :-)
