Still Here!

yeah – i’m still here — it’s been a hard week and a half since my last post. Kaleya got sick again with the same symptoms (vomiting and diarrhea), so she was out of daycare for 4 more days. She’s fine now, back in daycare and just as a happy as can be. :-)

We had a good Easter. Went to a friend’s for the day and Kaleya even got to do some Easter Egg hunting.

Stitching wise, I am starting to rotate a bit more. I stopped working on Angel of Grace and picked up New Zealand. This design is from an issue of Jill Oxton’s Cross Stitch magazine and one day when I finish it I will give it to a dear friend of mine. Then, over the past couple of days I’ve been working on a Stoney Creek design.

P1010075Here is my latest progress on Angel of Grace. The picture is not the best, but I’ve stitched a lot in the past month or so. I”ll continue to stitch on it until I get bored :-)

Computer is back up

my computer is back up! i’m so excited. I did a system restore last night and managed to get almost everything back. There are a few applications that I will have to install again, but overall I am happy about the outcome.

If you’ve noticed, I’ve added a new link to my Links menu on the left side of the screen. It is to my blogroll — Bloglines is a service that provides an easy way to read a whole bunch of blogs and rss feeds in one place — without me having to remember to go to each site individually. I love it! I am slowly adding more feeds to it and I find it very convenient to use.

Not sure what plans the weekend holds — i’ll report more later.

I Think I’m Gonna Cry

My computer is giving me the black screen of death! Kalonji called me while I was in Philly to tell me he couldn’t get it to work and sure enough when I tried after I got home last night, no luck. I am afraid I may have to completely reinstall Windows XP and  hence, all the stuff I had stored on my harddrive is gone. I can reinstall all my programs that I normally use, but it’s such a pain to have to do it. What a pain — but I can’t even deal with it until next week…

I’m back home, had a great time in Philly. Had good food and had my first philly cheesesteak. Came home to a sick husband and daughter (they have colds) but all else is fine. Work was crazy today as of course I had to catch up!

Haven’t stitched very much in the past several days, but I’ll try to get a new pic up of Angel of Grace tomorrow. Today, Kaleya is 5 months old! and, tomorrow marks one year since we found out we were going to have her :-)

Away from Home

Thanks everyone for all your well wishes for me and Kaleya. We are both better and feeling just fine. Kaleya returned to daycare on tuesday and I went back to work, so have been just catching up and staying busy since then. Right now, I am in Philadelphia on my first business trip since having Kaleya.

Kalonji came home Friday night as he is staying with her and will be home the rest of the week. My mother-in-law came on Saturday and will be with them too, she goes back home on Wed. I’ll get back home Tuesday night, but man, I miss my little girl! Saturday night was the first night that I did not sleep with kaleya as she slept with my mother-in-law and yesterday I talked to Kaleya on the phone for the first time. Then, when I talked to Kalonji, she was in the background just blabbing away — for a good 15 mintues or so!

But, Philly is good. There was a parade in front of our hotel yesterday for St. Patrick’s Day and that was fun to watch. The conference I’m attending is interesting as well. So, I probably won’t post again until Wednesday sometime.

Two Sick Girls

Posted by taneya on March 4, 2005 under General Ramblings | 5 Comments to Read

Well, a lot has happened since my last post. Went to go pick Kaleya up from daycare on Wed and they informed me she had four diarrhea bm’s. When I took her Wednesday morning and shared that she continued to have diarrhea, they told me they could not take her b/c of that. Another kid in her room has been sick and Kaleya would have to be diarrhea-free for 24 hours before they can take her back. Also, Kaleya was definitely not her usual energetic self that morning, so I took her home and called the pediatrician.  Got some good advice from the pediatrician’s office, but guess who still has diarrhea? If she goes for more than 5 days, then I have to take her in as they will need to examine her for any signs of dehydration. So, we stayed home yesterday and today.

Then, guess who got sick last night? Moi! I have not been this sick in years and I’m afraid I may have the flu. I have vomited, have body aches, headaches, upset stomach and chills today. I feel better now having had some medicine, but I have not done much of anything -slept most of the afternoon. So, we are two sick girls this weekend……..

Visit to the Dr.

Took Kaleya to the dr. this morning. She had been throwing up her formula last night and the night before last and it was really getting to concern me. She’s okay – doc says she’s got some reflux and gave me pointers on how to help her. Unfortunately, Kaleya also got her shots today and she did not like them at all! I too was almost taken aback and how they jabbed the needle in her leg — seemed worse to me this time than with her two month shots.. I don’t know. Anyway, she’s feeling better now and slept most of the day away.

I’m still stitching on Angel of Grace. I think I will move on this weekend and work on something else. I am really trying to make a concerted effort now to rotate more on my projects. However, I think I need to spend at least a couple of weeks on each projeect I work on so that I see progress. Since my stitching time varies so much now, it’s the only way I’ll feel like I’m getting anything done :-)

I am going on my first business trip in a couple of weeks (first one since having Kaleya). Fortunately, it’s worked out that Kalonji will take a week off of work so he can come home and be with her. His mother will also come down while I’m out of town and that should be nice!
