Happy Birthday Q!!! Today is my youngest stepson’s birthday — turns 4 today. Hard to believe! Kaleya is already older than he was when Kalonji and I met. Scary. But we wish him a very, very happy bday!!!
I am so glad to be home. Had a good day at work today, but for some reason was having a mental block on some things. I think some stitching will cure that. I did quite a bit of stitching over the weekend. I was planning to go to Melanie’s for a stitch day, but was in a very blue mood on Saturday, so just stayed home. I’m better now, but I guess it was just one of those days. I worked on the Japanese Angel all weekend, so I got a lot done. This is what she will look like when done and this is
how much I have done.
Kaleya was once again fascinating over the weekend. She’s beenworking on her balance and I even have a little movie clip of it that I shared with family. I also put her in the
stroller w/o the car seat part for the first time this weekend. What a big girl!
the South Beach dieting is going well. I cheated on Sunday and ate ice cream, but considering the only other thing I had to eat was turkey sausage and eggs for one meal and then cheese later on for snacks, I don’t feel bad about it. Sometimes though, I have a tendency to skip meals, so I should really watch it. I feel “lighter ” this week and pulled out a pair of pants this morning that I’ll use as my barometer for these first several weeks to see if I notice any difference.

I’m on the South Beach Diet again! I officially started on Monday along with my boss and a coworker. Some of you may remember that I was on it before. I started it the first time in Nov 2003 and over the course of four months lost 30lbs. Then, I found out I was pregnant — no wonder it was so hard to lose the last 10lbs I had lost
So, I gained all that back plus more, now I’m off to a new start.
This time around I decided I am not going to weigh myself. I am just going to go by how clothes fit and try not to be so obessed about everything. Wish me luck — my first goal is to lose one size by the end of the summer.
I’m still stitching on Angel of Love. It is turning quite nicely.

I finally have a real stitching update. Over the past few weeks, I have actually managed to rotate among projects. Here are my pics:
Shipmates — I did not spend a lot of time on this piece this time around. Essentially, I completed the foot of the girl bear and stitched in more of the leg of the boy bear. progress pic
Japanese Angel — i started this on a whim just b/c i felt the need to start something. It’s by Barbara Baatz of Kooler Design Studio and I’ve done her South American Angel for my friend Sara. This one is for me
— not much to see, but here is the little bit of progress [link deleted 4/25]
Angel of Love — and I am really enjoying this one. Also started on a whim and for once I am not waiting until the end to bead. On this progress pic [link deleted 4/20/05] there is only one row of beads, but I added more last night.
And, Kaleya is six months old now — saturday was her half-year birthday
I need to update her site with her new developmental milestones and take a six-month picture of her. Maybe i’ll get around to it tonite.

Still no pictures yet, but I do have a stitching update! I started two new projects last weekend — MLI’s Angel of Love and Japanese Angel by Barbara Baatz. They are going to be gorgeous when I finish them one day 50 years from now
My LNS recently moved to a new location and were officially “open” yesterday so I stopped by last night. It’s a cute building and is a little bit closer to me now. I was missing them too while they were closed for the move so I’m glad to have them back.
Going to Memphis again tomorrow for the weekend. I hope the weather remains as nice as it is today. And, as for miss Kaleya — she’s just as adorable as ever!

TGIF
I am so glad it’s friday! welcome to my new blogspace. I decided to go with Blogger b/c it’s free and since I’m such a Google freak, even better that it’s provided by Google
Have had an active past several days. Kaleya got sick again and we discovered she has an infection of her left ear. She’s on her antibiotics now, so is doing just fine. And today, I discovered that she has teeth!!! She has two little teeth that have just broken the gum surface at the front of her bottom gum. How adorable! But, that would explain why she’s been crying more the past few days and more needy.
Stitching wise I have not done much. I’ll do atitching update tomorrow…

I logged into GMAIL this morning to check my email and they have a message up about increasing MB space. I thought, cool! It’s up from 1000 MB to 1333 MB. Well, I logged back in about 10 minutes later and it was up to 1341 MB. If you look at their site, you see the number of MB offered is going increasingly higher (it’s like a ticker). So, I logged back in again just now and it’s up to 1355 of MB space. This is cool!
Now, It’s april 1st – is this an April Fool’s joke? GMAIL was announced last year on April 1st and people thought it was a joke – yet it turned out to be true. Let me just say, I LOVE GOOGLE! Let’s see if this turns out to be a joke or not. But in any case, Google rocks! If anyone wants a GMAIL address, let me know – I have plenty of invites to use.
One of my latest Google discoveries is Google Maps — the way they do the maps makes them so you can click and drag — much easier to use than Mapquest or Yahoo maps
