Would you believe that I have actually spent the last three days in a row STICHING! I got the urge on Saturday, ran to my LNS to get some thread colors I was lacking and Sat night started on my project again. It feels so good – I have got to do this on a more regular basis again
Anyway, the last time I posted about my stitching was back in September. I have not stitched since we moved back to Nashville. While I stitched, I watched CSI Las Vegas. I had never seen an episode of CSI before and I have now watched all of Season Two.
In Christmas news, I of course took pictures and have them posted here. Kaleya enjoyed openig her presents and actually knew what to do with them this year — last year, it took her ahwile to figure out that she was supposed to take the paper off.

Merry Christmas Eve!
Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. Just wanted to post this picture of Kaleya opening her first Christmas present this year – this was from a co-worker – it is a Dora book and it is great for naming things. You’ll see Kaleya in this same outfit tomorrow though – gotta get as much out of it as I can!

Kalonji just made me SO happy! He sent me an email link to the preview for the next Die Hard – Live Free or Die Hard. I LOVE Bruce Willis and the Die Hard movies and I had no idea they were making a 4th. I know what I’ll be doing on July 4th!

Kaleya used the potty!
This is officially the second time she’s done it, but the first time was like MONTHS ago when we first bought her a potty seat. Well, she’s been consistently asking to use the potty for weeks now but each time nothing happens. Tonite, she actually used it!
i know – the little things in life are what count right?

INTRODUCING — KEON AJANI KOONCE

Say hello to my newest nephew, Keon. This is my brother’s third son and he was born yesterday evening in Tampa, FL. He is so gorgeous! He was 7lbs, 12 oz and 19 inches long. Hi Keon! Your older brothers Alijzah and Izjan are going to have so much fun with you!!!!!
A few more pictures here, but I will be adding more as soon as my mother downloads them off of her camera. They have kept their naming convention (j sound in one of the names) for the three boys. In fact, Keon fits me and Kalonji’s naming convention (hard K sound in one of the names to go with the hard K sound in our last name). Cool.

Well, as my cousin has pointed out to me, I am horribly behind in updating my blog. Why does it seem I can never find the time to do this! In any case, here is an update on what’s been going on the past few weeks:
- We are in the holiday spirit big time! For the first time, I purchased a Christmas Tree! We have it up by our front window and it looks so nice all lit and decorated! Kalonji’s mom has for the past two years asked me if I was going to get a tree “for the baby.” And, despite Kalonji having adopted Islam as a religion, he is still into trees big time, so we got one. I’m so proud. We also have a wreath hanging on the front door. Happy Holidays!
- Kalonji got a job! He’s been relaxing since we moved back, taking some time off and staying home with Kaleya. But last week he started a position at a center in town that provide programs and services for the homeless. It is exactly the kind of position he wanted, something socially responsible, and so far, he’s enjoying it.
- along that vein, because he got a job, Kaleya started daycare again this week. It has been a trying week and I’m starting to really understand the phrase “terrible two”. We’ve put a lot of change on her this week and her reaction has not been most favorable. She does like the daycare though and has fun while there, that much I know. But the changes have been a bit much on her, so I just know I’ll have to bear through it until she gets used to it.
-My hobby of choice these past few weeks has been genealogy. I’m back on that for awhile and I even went to the State Library today to do some research. Not so much for me, but for a friend of mine. I like to work on other people’s trees to, so it was cool to be there. I’ll post more about that on my genealogy blog later.
-And, last but not least, my brother’s newest son was born tonite! His name is Ajoni Keon Koonce (hope I spelled it right) and I don’t have any details now, but I bet you anything, my next post will have his picture and birth details. Whoo hoo! He arrived at about 6:30ish pm EST.
