A Pleasant Affair

An ice cream and strawberry festival were given Friday night at Linderís store house, near the residence of Mr. S. M. Jemison eight miles from the city under the auspices of the Ladies Benevolent Society. The following couples from this city were present;

Champ McClellan and Miss May Charles; August Ullman and Miss Lovina Berry; Milton Montgomery and Miss Jessie Miller; Sam Venable and Miss Rosa Adams; Noble Sayre and Miss Conra Skaggs; Tom Montgomery and Miss Mamie Montgomery.

Mr. August Ullman did ample justice to the occasion and surrounded strawberries by the shovelful and ice cream of a saucer, Nick and such wholesale destruction that it looked as if the supper would be short on a special climate eatables. His friends pleaded but to no avail, he was dared to eat and did eat. Mr. Allman admits that on no occasion did he ever even as much. The benevolent ladies should take this as a compliment, Mr. Ullman is an epicure.
