MacNair, Edmund, inventory of goods and chattels belonging to the estate included negroes in Edgecombe, Franklin, and Beaufort counties, a plantation called Hope Lodge and a library consisting of about 520 volumes. The summer residence in Franklin Co., was called Walnut Hill. A tract of land in Beaufort Co., belonging to the widow, Eliza B. Macnair, before their marriage and reverted to her at his death. Also due was an old claim to E.D. Macnair as admr. and heir of Ebenezer Macnari, decd., of Richomond Colquhoun of London, May Ct. 1843.
