Mrs. Nancy THOMAS, formerly of Bradford county, but of late living with her son, Hardy THOMAS at Plant City, died at that place early Tuesday morning, June 19th of heart trouble.  The remains were shipped to Starke the same day, and were taken charge of by her sons, N.J. and Jos. THOMAS, of New River, this county, and interred in the family burying ground.

LESLEY, John T. – Retirement (1897)

The following article appeared in the December 9, 1897 issue of the Morning Tribune. It describes the retirement party for Captain John T. LESLEY of the Port of Tampa Customs.  Col. R.B. THOMAS presented him with a silver service with his associates’ names inscribed within it.
