Koonce (1778-1846) who migrated from Jones County, NC to Wilson County, TN then eventually to Louisiana.  Christopher was the uncle of Isaac mentioned below as Jennifer’s slaveowner. [email]

  • Koonce, John Paul – John, publisher of the Koonce Genealogical Society newsletters (1994-1997), is the grandson of James Monroe Koonce (1879-1962) & Agatha Emma Ayde of Ramsey county, Minnesota & Bond county, Illinois.  James Monroe Koonce was descended from Capt. John Koonce & Catron McQuillen of Jones County, NC.  The branch that John Paul Koonce descends from migrated to TN in 1800 then to IL in 1829 and to MN in 1900.  I do not have all of John Paul’s lineage added to the database yet.  [email]
