Cascarets for Constipation

Half of the fun of reading the old newspapers are the ads and the style of writing the editors would employ in the paper. Makes for some highly enteratining reading. I am going to try and include more of that in the blog. I also love the ads for the various medicinal items.
For example, here is an ad for a product to help with constipation, Cascarets – apparently, they could “educate your bowels”
I was able to find a picture of a tin of Cascarets from an online collectibles store. You can even find these on eBay!
Pretty. But, do they really cure constipation forever? Somehow, I doubt it.
